The PERSEF3 BLOG PART IV

The PERSEF3 BLOG PART IV - Gelo Ybanez Nov 20, 2012

On the fourth meeting of our Persef3 class, we had a little activity about words which had meaning to us which we had to give out a definition for also. Miss gave all of us strips of paper in which had 2 words, at first I really did not know what to do with it and neither did I have a clue on what was to come, until miss told us to give 3 separate meanings for each in different timelines. The first was the meaning that we had about the words when we were back in high school, the next is the present day or in our college days, and finally the last is five years after graduation. The words that I chose were Competence and Faith, which had so much effect on me when I saw those words because I knew that these 2 words affected me a lot all through out my life. Because back in high school I didnt become competent until I felt pressured to because my grades fell down that time, and in faith, I didnt have a lot because I didnt have a lot of confidence in myself also which I knew worked together. But I saw changes in the meaning as I grew into a college man, I felt that I had the experience to be competent so it was easy for me to cope up with work, rather than in high school, and in faith, it grew rapidly because my knowledge expanded in my religion and I also grew into a mature man so I have more confidence in myself now. And in the future, I know both words will grow on me more because of the rapid rate on how I understand both words in the present. In the future, as I graduate and leave La Salle, my alma mater and school pride will stick to me and I am very proud to say that I will be La Sallian as I grow up because the things that make me La Sallian will be the ones that will help me become a successful person, and these things are the values I possess that I received from La Salle and that is working under pressure and working things fast and to be diligent in my work and also to be kind hearted to others and to persevere even when times are hard and the last is being street smart also, to find a way through things especially when its challenging. I believe that I wouldnt get these valuable values in other schools if I had gone to any of them, I really think that La Salle was the perfect school for me because it really fits my style as a person and my personality and how I work. I'm just glad that I am getting a very good education from an outstanding school which is La Salle. While were doing all of these activities also in the classroom 2 weeks ago, miss left us to talk amongst ourselves and discuss with each other, I think she did this so we can mature as individuals and to train us to find ways to work with each other because this is also training in the real world when we will be left alone struggling to find answers and success, that is why we need friends, colleagues and teammates so that we have help in finding answers and success.
