The Persef3 Blog PART II - Gelo Ybanez OCT 23 2012
On the second day of our meeting for PERSEF3 it was very surprizing to me and unexpected on what was in store for everyone on that meeting in terms of what activities what we were going to do. I got surprized at the fact that we had to write down on a piece of paper our positive attributes as a person and our negative attributes as well. I felt very nervous because I was giving my own personality and habits to the public to see but ofcourse it was confidential in a sense that our names wouldn't be written in that piece of paper. But as we shuffled the pieces of papers and got 2 for each person, we could see some traits that were already evident that some people wrote it, one negative trait that I got was about not listening to conversations or someone speaking with the tagalog language in it and that the person will give up conversing once he/she just hears tagalog. I had a feeling that it was already one of the few people in the classroom already who wrote that but I may be wrong about it.
With all the pieces of papers we got, we were supposed to combine all these traits and use them in a skit and incorporate all these attributes. It was tough at first but in the end we formulated a skit which was very simple because we realized that the pieces of papers already formulated a skit of its own, in which we just followed the flow. In our skit, the story was about having ignorant groupmates who just wouldnt get things done for the final requirements, in which one of them was very bossy and ignorant, while the other was just annoying and not listening all the time but in the end, the good groupmates who were very persuasive and who just wants to get all the requirements done, had to talk to the rest of the group and work something out so that the requirements will be done.
It was very nerve wracking being up front and performing for the whole class and it was awkward also because everything was just random and unexpected. But I was glad we got to finish fast and got to show the whole point of the whole skit. So as the rest of the groups, they had short skits but showed evident points on what has to be shown. they all had a common denominator in their skits, in which the topic was always about school and how academics was the issue and how to get things done in the end. This was because mostly everyone had a a negative side in which everyone could relate to, and the best story to put it in is a school kind of story so that people could just easily relate to it and see how the traits of everybody works out in it. It was a realizing moment for us that we as persons can point out our mistakes and see them through and we are actually putting it all down in a piece of paper so that we can sort things out with ourselves and do right the next time. I am glad that we had this activity because it makes us realize things as students and as human beings.
